Happy Monday! Here’s three juicy themes for the coming week. I recorded this from my kitchen table on Monday morning in my bathrobe, because why the hell not. I guess this is my work now. And I love it. Make it up as you go along :)
Release: King of Pentacles
While the King of Pentacles is a master of his domain, successful in the material realm and dedicated to his community, he is also very traditional. His approach to life tends to be very literal and mundane. As we pulled this in the Release category, I read it as letting go of traditional structures of living and working. To create alignment you have to tune into your unique frequency. You will have to think creatively, untraditionally, approach work and life in a way that is likely different to many around you. You may have to explore paths your parents deem irresponsible.
When I became a coach in 2017 my parents questioned if it was a ‘real’ job befitting of someone with an MBA. A friend of mine lives and runs co-living communities. Her father asked her when she was going to ‘grow up’ and get a more adult approach to structuring her life.
The people around you who are stuck in an old model of life probably won’t get you. Let them misunderstand you while you follow what feels sparkly, aligned, and true to your soul.
Remember: VIII of Cups
This is a really powerful card as it reminds us that sometimes we have to leave what’s working to find what’s energizing. This has been very true for me over the past year as I’ve made the decision to move away from scaling my very effective and successful career alignment work into something more creative and spiritual and really go all in on the Tarot. There’s been a lot uncertainty and I’ve had to move forward and bet on myself when I don’t really know where I’m going. This is what the figure in this card is doing, they’re walking towards new terrains of exploration during the night with only the light of the moon to guide them.
Just because something is technically working doesn’t mean it’s right. If you feel off then it’s time to look for new sources of inspiration. Trust how you feel.
Grow: X of Swords
I like this card because while it’s so intense to look at it’s actually very hopeful: it’s always darkest before the dawn. We have to go down to come up. Life is not a wide open high way with green lights and beautiful vistas always ascending in a perfect y = x slope. Life is hard with ups and downs. And it’s through embracing the hard and seeing what it’s here to teach you that you come out of the it and into the light. The deeper down you go, the farther up you come. The question is, are you willing to embrace the hard fully so you can take all of it’s wisdom and evolve into the next version of yourself. The more you go right in and feel everything and keep moving through, the more you shoot out on the other side.
Remember, it will get better. And in the new version of reality, you’ll have integrated the wisdom of whatever was hard to be able to navigate life through a new, more evolved lens.
Which card resonates most with you? Do you have any questions? Let me know in the comments! Have a great week!
